The season concludes with a thrilling program of brilliance and bold expression. Montgomery’s Starburst begins the evening with kinetic energy and vibrant color. Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2, playful and sparkling, showcases the remarkable artistry of pianist Vitaly Starikov, Silver Medalist in the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition. The finale belongs to Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, Titan, a sweeping and deeply expressive, monumental work that moves from rustic, introspective innocence to a triumphant conclusion. A rousing and unforgettable close to a stellar season.
