“IKEBANA
IMAGINATION” EXHIBITION RICHARDSON, TX – aMay 6 through June 1, 2008, the Dallas Branch of the Sogetsu School will exhibit their interpretations of the new form of Ikebana – flowork which translates to “large installations for contemporary spaces”. Ikebana, often described as the Japanese style of flower arranging, has changed. The motto of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana is “anything is possible”. Prescribed styles, materials and vases give way to an emphasis on creativity, experimentation and individual expression. Designs can be made anywhere with anything. Set free of the vase, this exhibit is a series of seven contemporary wall reliefs using mostly organic materials. Admission is free to the public and gallery hours are 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday and during all public events. The Charles W. Eisemann Center is located at 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, Texas 75082 in the Galatyn Park Urban Center.
