EIGHT ARTS GROUPS RECEIVE GRANTS FROM THE EISEMANN FOUNDATION FUND
OF COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF TEXAS TO ASSIST IN THEIR SECOND YEAR
OF TRANSITION TO THE EISEMANN CENTER

RICHARDSON, TX – Charles W. Eisemann has announced that eight arts organizations have received supplemental funding to support their programming in the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations in the Galatyn Park Urban Center in Richardson, Texas, which opened in September 2002 and is nearing the conclusion of its first operating season. The Eisemann Foundation Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas is providing funding for this specialized program. “The prestige associated with being named as a recipient of the Eisemann Foundation Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas Grant elevates the recognition of the quality of The Classics programs. Our programs would not be possible without the support of foundations and individuals like Charles W. Eisemann,” said Debbie Mulvenna, Executive Director of The Classics.

The eight arts organizations from Dallas and Collin County that applied for this funding support, and will share in a total of $15,000, include Chamber Music International; Chamberlain Ballet; The Classics; Plano Symphony Orchestra; RCT-
A Repertory Company Theater; Richardson Community Band; The Richardson Symphony; and Tuzer Ballet. “Charles W. Eisemann has not only given a significant gift to enhance the performing arts center for music presentation, he very thoughtfully considered the challenges under-funded arts groups would face in increased costs to use the performing arts center. The Plano Symphony Orchestra has received grants for its first two seasons to assist us with those increased costs. Chuck and Ann Eisemann are enthusiastic concert-goers and supporters of the arts – it is a joy to see them at concerts and a privilege to know and work with them,” said Alice Hobbs, Executive Director, Plano Symphony Orchestra.

Eisemann Foundation Fund of CFT Presented $2 Million Gift to Center
The Eisemann Foundation Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas was the vehicle for a $2 million dollar gift to the City of Richardson in 2001 that led to the City’s naming of the center for Mr. Eisemann. The fund was established by Mr. Eisemann to provide enrichment to the communities in North Texas with a focus on the arts.

Applications were mailed to a significant number of area performing arts groups in Allen, McKinney, Plano and Richardson inviting them to perform in the Eisemann Center, and in so doing would qualify for seed money to help in their transition. When asked why he was making this funding program available for the first two seasons, Mr. Eisemann stated, “The Eisemann Center is designed to be a regional arts facility. We wanted to extend the invitation to come to our Center to each and every arts group in the cities around us with more than a welcome sign. We wanted to support their move in the event they chose to make one. We welcome each and every one of these fine arts organizations to this wonderful regional facility.” Through Mr. Eisemann’s generosity, the two year total of gifts for this program equals $30,000. Any late applicants will still be eligible for consideration and should contact Communities Foundation of Texas.

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) reviewed grant applications, determined award amounts and issued funding checks. This special funding program was created specifically for the arts organizations’ first two (2002-2003 and 2003-2004) seasons and this is the final distribution for this particular grant. CFT’s investment in this project reflects their deep commitment to the arts and to fulfilling the generous legacy of their donors. Spanning 50 years, the Foundation’s contributions also represent confidence in the future – in the vision and structure of things to come.
