EISEMANN CENTER WILL PRESENT “A RITA COOLIDGE CHRISTMAS” WITH A SPECIAL
APPEARANCE BY THE CHILDREN’S CHORUS OF GREATER DALLAS
ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2006 AT 7:00 PM IN THE HILL PERFORMANCE HALL

RICHARDSON, TX – Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 7:00 pm, the Eisemann Center is pleased to present A Rita Coolidge Christmas with a special appearance by the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. Rita Coolidge, over a dazzling career spanning four decades, has established herself as one of the most singularly compelling and versatile voices in the music world. The vocalist – whose passionate and pure voice excels equally at rock, pop, R&B, country and folk – started out as a backup singer from the group Delaney & Bonnie. She soon branched out to work with music icons such as Eric Clapton, Stephen Stills, Leon Russell, and Joe Cocker, among others. She was put on the map performing the rock standard “Superstar” on Cocker’s now legendary tour and CD, Mad Dogs & Englishmen (she is also an uncredited co-writer on the song, which later became a hit for The Carpenters). In 1973, she married the progressive country singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson. Their first duet album, Full Moon, topped the country charts, and “From the Bottle to the Bottom” won a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal by a Duo or Group. Continuing their collaboration, the couple won a second Grammy in the same category the next year for “Lover, Please” from their album, Breakaway.

A Rita Coolidge Christmas is a heartwarming blend of some of Rita’s signature songs along with traditional and inspirational Christmas tunes. She will also sing "Circle of Light" and "Amazing Grace" in Cherokee and "Silent Night" with special guests, the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. This will be a joyous holiday concert suitable for the entire family.

The Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD), founded in 1996, gives children living in the Dallas Metroplex the experience of musical artistry and excellence through choral singing in a group that reflects the diversity of the metropolitan area. The Chorus, led by Artistic Director Cynthia Nott, includes four children’s choruses of fourth through eighth grade girls and boys with unchanged voices and the Youth Chorus of high school students. The Chorus has been a frequent guest of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and made their Carnegie Hall debut with the DSO. In addition, the Chorus has toured to perform in the Niagara International Music Festival and abroad in the Tuscany International Children’s Music Festival. CCGD was heard on WRR Classical 101.1 FM on the nationally broadcast radio show, “From The Top” in June 2006 – a show that was performed and recorded in the Eisemann Center’s Hill Performance Hall on March 23, 2006.

Tickets range from $25-$55 and go on sale to the public September 29. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.eisemanncenter.com or by calling the Eisemann Center Ticket Office at 972-744-4650.
